Westmead Hospital Library has re-opened for clients after an extensive renovation. The refurbished library, which was first built in the 1970s, was funded by the University of Sydney and delivered by Western Sydney Local Health District. The opening of the refurbished library was an important component of the ongoing redevelopment of Westmead as a global centre of health, research and education excellence.

New facilities include; clinical scenario simulation rooms, pathology tutorial room housing historical specimens, technology enabled individual and group study spaces, WiFi, purpose-built facilities for student and medical staff examinations, bookable meeting rooms, self-checkout technology, phone charging stations and computers.
In addition to the assistance provided by Westmead Hospital Library staff, University of Sydney Academic Liaison Librarians will also be available for research appointments in-person at Westmead and/or online.
